Video: Did Donald Trump bow to the Queen at Windsor Castle?

US President Donald Trump was criticised for his conduct when he met the Queen at Windsor Castle last week, after walking in front of her and failing to bow.

But after scrutinising footage of the meeting, some people have claimed they can see Mr Trump slightly bowing as he steps out of his vehicle.

As he is standing behind the open car door, he appears to nod his head slightly in the direction of the Queen. But it's not clear whether or not it's an intentional bow.

His failure to observe royal protocol caused a stir on Twitter last week.

"I can't even watch this... No bow or curtsy and now #Trump walks in front of the Queen... surely he knows the protocol but chooses to ignore it and that's just bloody rude," one Twitter user wrote.

"Well #Trump should be ashamed of how he behaved in front of the queen. No respect for protocol or even decent manners. She's an elderly lady and the way you behaved is arrogant and disgusting," another person said.

Most people tend to bow before the Queen, even though it is not a requirement it is simply seen as good manners.

The Monarchy's online guideline says when meeting a Royal, those who want to follow tradition may choose to bow.

"For men this is a neck bow (from the head only) whilst women do a small curtsy. Other people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way," the website says.

Former President Barack Obama bowed his head to the Queen when they met while he was in office.
