Was the Queen's fashion choice a subtle form of protest against Trump?

An eagle-eyed Twitter user has revealed that Queen Elizabeth's choice in brooches while welcoming US President Donald Trump to the UK may have been a subtle protest.

The user, @SamaruiKnitter, pointed out that the Queen may have intentionally picked brooches with significant meaning behind them.

Only actually meeting with Mr Trump once, she still wore a different brooch on all three days of his trip.

Amongst her choices was one gifted from Mr Trump's predecessor and political rival Barack Obama and wife Michelle - a brooch not given on behalf of the US, but as a personal gift from the pair.

She also wore a diamond brooch her mother donned at her father's state funeral, and a snowflake brooch - pertinent, given 'snowflake' is an insult Mr Trump's supporters have been using against Democrats who antagonise him.

Both of the latter brooches were gifted to the Queen by Canada, who Mr Trump has not got on so well with in recent times.

The Royal Family has a centuries-old tradition of being strictly neutral on political matters.
