16 nurses from same hospital pregnant at the same time

Baby fever has spread through the intensive care ward of an Arizona Hospital.

Sixteen nurses from three critical care units of Banner Desert Medical Centre in Mesa are pregnant.

The pregnant nurses make up 10 percent of the intensive care unit's nursing staff.

Pregnant ICU nurse Jolene Garrow told CBS News it was "one after another after another".

"Did we have some sort of pact going on I didn't know about?"

They are all due between September and February, and will each go on maternity leave for 12 weeks.

Nursing director Heather Francis says the hospital has been planning for the nurse shortage for months now.

The hospital has gifted each woman a onesie for their newborn that reads, "Relax, my mom is a Banner nurse!"

The hospital cafeteria has even added pickles and olives for a more craving-friendly menu.
