A new artwork supposedly by artist Banksy has disappeared less than a day after it was installed.

The stencilled road sign featured an elderly couple being held up by children, which some have suggested is a comment on Brexit.

The work was installed on a lamppost in Clevedon, north Somerset, on Friday, and posted to Banksy's official Instagram account.

However, by Sunday the artwork was gone in a suspected theft.

A Banksy exhibit is currently taking place in London.

The elusive artist has managed to hide their identity since the 1980s.
