FBI agent Peter Strzok has been fired after he exchanged anti-Trump text messages with a colleague during the 2016 election.

Republicans have accused Strzok of being biased against Trump and seeking to prevent his election as President.

Strzok exchanged messages with FBI lawyer Lisa Page during the election.

In one exchange, Ms Page messages Strzok asking: "Trump is not ever going to become president, right? Right?!"

Strzok responds by messaging "No. No he won't. We'll stop it."

Donald Trump has sent out two tweets since the Strzok firing.

Strzok - a 21 year FBI veteran - served on the Russia probe and Hillary Clinton email inquiry.

In a congressional hearing last month, Strzok insisted there was "no evidence of bias in my professional actions".
