Police in Poland say they are evacuating more than 2,000 people after the discovery of a 250kg unexploded World War II bomb.

The bomb was found during cleaning of the bottom of the Oder River in the town of Glogow, an area of Poland that was part of Germany during the war.

Police say they are evacuating the people to a nearby school.

It's the fourth World War II-era bomb found in the area over the past year.
