Three New Zealanders and one American have been injured in a serious car crash on The James E. Roberts Memorial Bridge in Tuolumne County, California.
James Sayer, 43, Helen Celia, 3, and Ethan Sayer, 3 of Christchurch and Edward Kalen, 59, of Copperopolis, California all sustained major injuries,Union Democrat reports.

After stopping at Don Pedro Lake Vista point, Mr Sayer re-entered the Highway heading eastbound but was in the westbound lane,
Mr Kalen was driving Westbound at the same time and tried to avoid Mr Sayer's vehicle but the cars crashed head on.
Emergency services had to remove Mr Kalen from his vehicle as he was pinned to his seat.
He was then taken to the nearest hospital with major injuries, Union Democrat reports.
Mr Sayer and Ms Celia also sustained major injuries and were taken to Memorial Medical Centre in Modesto.
Ethan was taken to the nearest medical centre in Sacramento with minor injuries.
