Los Angeles police are investigating a bizarre video that shows a man slapping a hippo's behind at Los Angeles Zoo.
The video, which surfaced on the internet last week, shows a man reaching over a barrier into the hippo enclosure and slapping one of the hippo's butts, The Los Angeles Times reports.
In the video, the man appears to celebrate the act, putting his arms in the air before running away.
It isn't clear if the hippos Mara and Rosie, a mother and daughter, were distressed by the incident.
Zoo officials are saying the move was very risky given hippos are the world's deadliest large land animal.
