A woman in the United States has broken the world land speed record for cycling, hitting 296km/h across the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
Denise Mueller-Korenek smashed the 23-year previous record of 268km/h.
She was previously the fastest-ever female cyclist, but after topping the male record too there are calls for the records to be unified.
The former US national track, road and mountain biking champion released a video on her YouTube channel.
Mueller-Korenek was pulled along on a tow-rope until reaching a speed of 161km/h, before being released to pedal herself.
She then rode in the slipstream of the dragster that towed her for 5.6 km, reaching the top speed over the last kilometre and a half.
