A group of disabled Moroccan rescue dogs have enjoyed a day out at the beach, wheelchairs and all.

Le Santuaire de la Faune de Tanger, a Moroccan animal shelter, is currently home to 500 animals including 330 dogs, 15 of which need wheelchairs to get around.

The video shows three of the dogs doing wheelies up and down the beach, soaking up the surf, sand and sun.

The sanctuary has a strict no kill policy, offering a forever home to its 120 cats, 30 donkeys, two goats and two Barbary macacque monkeys.

One of the dogs, Caesar, lost his back legs and tail after being hit by a train and was left to die until he was taken to the shelter.

In a Facebook post, the sanctuary said it was a great opportunity to educate people and for their babies to have fun.

"Disabled dogs are also amazing and have the right to live and be treated with love and care. We know that. We want everyone to know that."

The video now has more than 1400 views.
