Six siblings of an Arizona Congressman have spoken out against him, appearing in a campaign advert to endorse his opponent.

Paul Gosar's siblings Tim, Jennifer, Gaston, Joan, Grace and David all criticised the Republican's positions on immigration, the environment and health care.

They don't hold back at all, saying Mr Gosar's opinions have torn the family apart.

"It would be difficult to see my brother as anything but a racist," his sister Grace Gosar said.

The group endorsed Mr Gosar's opponent for Arizona's fourth congressional district, Democratic nominee David Brill.

Campaigning for Mr Brill isn't the first time Mr Gosars' relatives have spoken out against him. In 2017 Mr Gosar suggested in an interview "the left" was behind violent protests in Charlottesville and Democratic donor George Soros was a Nazi collaborator.

All six siblings that appeared in the ad, as well as another brother and former Wyoming Democratic candidate Pete Gosar, wrote a letter to the Daily Miner in response.

"It is extremely upsetting to have to call you out on this, Paul, but you've forced our hand with your deceit and anti-Semitic dog whistle," they wrote.

According to the Phoenix New Times, the siblings' latest stand against their brother was brought about after a campaign staff member for Mr Brill noticed David Gosar criticising his brother on Twitter.

She called him, and shortly after the conversation several of the Gosar siblings made financial contributions to the Brill campaign.

Videographers then travelled to the group's home state of Wyoming and shot the video, which the siblings all reportedly did for free.

Paul Gosar responded to his sibling's attacks on Twitter, saying he won't be deterred from "fighting for our conservative values".

He also linked to an article on the incident from the New York Times, saying his mum was definitely on his side.
