Brett Kavanaugh's Yale classmate says he has 'not told the truth' about his drinking

A Yale classmate of US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has accused him of being untruthful in his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Mr Kavanaugh has downplayed the degree and frequency of his drinking, but Chad Ludington told CNN that he "has not told the truth".

Mr Ludington said he often drank with Mr Kavanaugh at Yale, and said he often saw him "belligerent and aggressive" while drinking and "staggering from alcohol consumption".

Mr Ludington said it was his civic duty to detail his experience of drinking with Mr Kavanaugh.

Mr Kavanaugh has been accused of sexually assaulting Christine Blasey Ford at a party in 1982, an accusation he denies.

The US Supreme Court nominee has also had two more women come forward accusing him of sexual assault.
