The family of a mother-of-four dying from cancer have launched a heartbreaking crowd-funding appeal to raise money for both her wedding - and funeral.

Twenty-six-year-old UK woman Susan Rumney was told by doctors she has cervical cancer two weeks ago.

The disease has spread to her pelvis and is now incurable. She's undergoing chemotherapy sessions, but this will only delay the inevitable.

Her sister Lisa has launched an online donation page to raise money to make her dream of marrying her fiancé Jay Clark come true before it's too late.

"Susan's dream is to marry her fiancé. So I set up this page to raise money for a wedding as well as raise money for her funeral," Lisa wrote on Facebook.

"I think it's so important that she enjoys every second of her life without the worry of money. She has four beautiful children and a step-son to be."

Susan first noticed something was wrong when she began having a pain in her leg in January. But it was only recently she found out the real diagnosis.

"The diagnosis was a real shock and Susan is petrified; she's scared of going to sleep and not waking up," Lisa says.

"The chemo can't cure her cancer but it can prolong her life and keep her out of pain."

The fundraiser has currently raised the equivalent of over NZ$11,000.
