Saudi Crown Prince had 'nothing to do with' Jamal Khashoggi murder, says Minister

There are some major developments in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Turkey.

A Saudi prosecutor said he will seek the death penalty against five suspects - but he's adamant the Crown Prince had nothing to do with it.

"Sometimes mistakes happen," said the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, explaining how Jamal Khashoggi was killed.

Earlier, a spokesman for Saudi's top prosecutor claimed, for the first time, that Mr Khashoggi was killed by a lethal injection.

But that's just the latest story from Saudi Arabia, who first denied the killing, then said the journalist had died in a fistfight.

The country has admitted the body was dismembered, but they remain adamant that the Saudi Crown Prince was not involved.

"His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has nothing to do with this issue."

The whereabouts of Mr Khashoggi's remains is unknown, but a senior Turkish official said he believes they were dissolved in acid.
