Donald Trump appears to snub Clintons at George HW Bush's funeral

Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump have had an awkward encounter with former Presidents on the way into the funeral of former president George HW Bush.

Mr Bush was the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993 and the father of 43rd President George W Bush, who served from 2001 to 2009.

He died on Saturday at the age of 94.

Mr Trump arrived last to the funeral, after several former Presidents had arrived and been seated in the front row.

He passed in front of Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton and Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn Carter.

But he only appeared to acknowledge the Obamas, greeting and shaking hands with the pair before he sat down.

Ms Trump shook Mr Clinton's hand and waved to Ms Clinton, and Ms Clinton smiled back.

But it was frosty silence between the sitting President and the woman he defeated in a bitter presidential election as both appeared to ignore each other.

George W Bush arrived soon after and warmly greeted everyone seated on the front row, including appearing to pass something to Ms Obama.

It's believed it was a sweet, as he has been spotted giving Ms Obama lollies before at the funeral of former US Senator John McCain.
