That's the message from some of the world's most innovative supermarket chains, which are investing heavily in online shopping and grocery deliveries.

Based in Shanghai, China, Hemi is perhaps the most futuristic supermarket in the world. Customers shop with a mobile app, scanning products and paying with their phones.

Deliveries are available 24/7 and take just 30 minutes if you live within three kilometres of the store. This allows customers to order fresh food every day.

And the initiative could soon be coming to New Zealand.
