Former Australian deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce is expecting his second child with his former media advisor - and they've already decided on a name.

Barnaby Joyce and Vikki Campion's child is due in June, and the couple have decided to name him Thomas, after Mr Joyce's grandfather.

The baby's second name will be Timothy, reports the Sunday Telegraph. Timothy was the name of Mr Joyce's brother, who died of cancer last year aged 42.

The couple already have a nine-month-old son, Sebastian.

Ms Campion said in an interview with news and current affairs show Sunday Night that Sebastian was a "miracle baby" as she had been told by doctors that she was unable to have children.

Mr Joyce lost his job over his controversial relationship with Ms Campion in 2018. Ms Campion was his media advisor while he was in parliament.

The ex-deputy prime minister was married to Natalie Joyce, and had four daughters with her when his relationship with Ms Campion began.

In 2017, he announced his separation from his wife, and two months later The Daily Telegraph reported that he was expecting a child with Ms Campion.

Once their second son is born, Ms Campion wishes to return to her career as a media advisor, as Mr Joyce begins campaigning in New England for the federal election.
