US woman arrested for biting woman over pepper spraying her dog

A woman is in custody in Oakland, USA, after allegedly biting a jogger on a local park trail on Friday (local time).

East Bay Parks said in a statement that a female jogger had defended herself with pepper spray against a dog attack, but then the dog's owner pounced.

The accused, Alma Cadwalader, a 19-year-old Oakland resident, got into a fight with the jogger, who sustained a "significant injury" from a bite to her arm, according to Lieutenant Terrence Cotcher.

Cadwalader was arrested the day after the incident and booked for the assault charges at Santa Rita Jail.

She was charged with battery causing serious bodily injury.
