At least nine people have been killed in a massive fire which swept through a slum in Bangladesh.

Flames tore through more than 200 dwellings in the city of Chittagong, with 50 residents injured.

Four members of a single family are among the dead, BBC News reported.

Fire officials believe a short circuit caused the blaze, which took five hours to bring under control.
