Snapchat predator poses as model agency to get photos of underage girls

A mother is mortified after a predator posed as a modelling agency on Snapchat in an attempt to obtain compromising images of her 13-year-old daughter.

The woman, from Wrexham in Wales, says her daughter was asked to send photos "that show off [her] body and figure" by an account called New Faces Models.

The social media account shares a similar name to a legitimate modelling agency called New Face Models, which is based in London - but the real agency told The Daily Mail it was not affiliated with the account.

The predator allegedly requested a video interview with the young girl, apparently to gauge whether they would recruit her to the bogus agency.

She told The Daily Mail it was her daughter's dream to be a model, and that her being exploited had made her sick.

"If I hadn't seen those messages I believe it could have been so much worse," she said. "I dread to think what could have happened. It's so very easy now when it comes to social media."

In the wake of her shocking discovery, the mother set up her own fake account in which she pretended to be a 12-year-old girl, and was sent similarly concerning messages.

In screenshots of the messages sent to The Daily Mail, she too was asked to wear "something that shows off your body and figure".

North Wales Police are now looking into the matter after receiving numerous complaints about the account.
