Eight years of the Syrian conflict

This day eight years ago signalled the start of Syria's long and ongoing civil war.

What started as peaceful protests against the government quickly turned into violence and bloodshed.

More than 360,000 people have died so far and despite improvements and the takedown of Islamic State, the fighting and devastation remains.

Relief Aid has continuously provided humanitarian support to the thousands who have been forced from their homes into camps. Executive director Mike Seawright spoke to The AM Show.
