Melbourne man Borce Ristevski pleads guilty to manslaughter of Kiwi wife

Australian man Borce Ristevski has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his Kiwi wife.

Karen Ristevksi's body was found in Melbourne bushland in 2017, eight months after she went missing.

Ristevski, 54, initially denied any involvement in his wife's disappearance or death, despite switching his phone off for several hours on the day the 47-year-old woman went missing.

His daughter Sarah was among those to question his innocence.

His unexpected admission of guilt comes just a day before his murder trial was due to begin in the Victorian Supreme Court.

Prosecutors alleged he killed his wife in June 2016 in their Avondale Heights home before driving her body to Mount Macedon Regional Park, where her body was found the following February.

Her cause of death has still not been determined.
