Car chases are nothing new in Los Angeles but one on Friday afternoon (local time) was particularly wild with the passenger of a Toyota Prius leaning out of the window and shooting at police officers.
The car eventually came to a stop behind a truck and the man once again opened fire.
Officers shot back into the cars back window with the female driver surrendering to police.
It's reported the male passenger is the suspect in a recent murder case.
According to NBC, the man was hospitalised with "numerous injuries" following the chase.
At least one police vehicle was struck by gunfire during the chase, investigators said. No police officers were injured.
