A woman who allegedly broke into a house in Ohio to pat the family's dog and wash the dishes has been arrested.

An occupant of the Vinton household told police on Monday morning (local time) the woman was not known to them and she entered the house uninvited, ABC News reports.

The occupant added the woman was behaving "very strange", police said.

Police then received a call a woman with the same description was knocking on other doors in the area, ABC reports.

She appeared to be on drugs when she was arrested, police said, and told the Vinton County Sheriff's Office deputy she had been up for "two days straight".

She is being held in custody on a $10,000 bond.
