A man has drowned while trying to rescue his three-year-old child, who fell off a bridge in Minnesota.
According to Fox News, authorities were called to a bridge at Dead Shot Bay at around 8:30pm.
When they arrived, they were told a child had fallen off the bridge. The father jumped into the water to help, but struggled to keep the child afloat.
Bystanders were able to rescue the three-year-old, but the father didn't resurface.
His body was found after 9pm and he was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
According to CBS, the victim has been identified as Christopher Schultz, from Frazee, Minnesota.
The child was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
