Russia calls MH17 findings 'groundless accusations'

Russia's foreign ministry says it regrets the findings of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash investigation and is calling murder charges against Russian suspects groundless.

Three Russians and a Ukrainian have been charged for the 2014 downing of the MH17 jet over eastern Ukraine which killed 298 people.

Russians Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinsky and Oleg Pulatov and Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko will be tried - likely in absentia - in the Netherlands next March, an investigation team said earlier on Wednesday .

The four pro-Russian Donetsk People's Republic officials were allegedly responsible for bringing the Buk missile launcher used to shoot down the plane into the area from Russia.

"Once again, absolutely groundless accusations are being made against the Russian side, aimed at discrediting the Russian Federation in the eyes of the international community," the Russian foreign ministry said on its website.
