A windsurfer has saved the life of a kangaroo off the coast of Queensland.
Video of the rescue supplied to 7 News shows the marsupial out of its depth in the ocean near Bribie Island.
The windsurfer comes to the animal's rescue and can be seen ushering the exhausted animal back to shore.
Beachgoers told 7 News on Sunday something on the beach had "spooked" the animal, sending it bouncing into the ocean.
Video shows the animal bouncing through the sea, just managing to keep its head above water before the surfer saves the day.
The windsurfer stopped short of putting the kangaroo on their board, instead choosing to sail behind it and herd it back towards safety.
