The baby of a pregnant stabbing victim in London on Saturday has died.

Kelly Fauvrelle, an eight-month pregnant 26-year-old woman, died at a London property on Saturday (local time) after suffering stab wounds and having a heart attack, CNN reports.

The mother's baby, named Riley by the family, was then delivered in an emergency procedure but kept in hospital in a critical condition.

The baby was announced dead on Wednesday morning (local time).

"This morning, we heard the sad news that Kelly’s baby son, Riley, has died in hospital. Our thoughts remain with their family," detective chief inspector Mick Norman said.

Police want to know the identity of a man captured by a CCTV camera walking towards the London property on Saturday and then running away ten minutes later.

The footage has been released by police in the hope someone from the public will recognise the man.

Two men were previously arrested on suspicion of murder. One has been released with no further action, while the second has been bailed until August, reports BBC.

Police are unable to say whether the attacker was known to Fauvrelle.
