Man attacked Wall St's famous bull statue with metallic banjo

A Texas man has been charged for allegedly attacking Wall St's famous bull statue with a metallic banjo.

"F**k Donald Trump," the 42-year-old man said as he attacked the bull, according to a witness who spoke to the New York Daily News.

The alleged offender, Kevin Cevon Carlack, has been charged with disorderly conduct, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal mischief, NBC New York reports.

Images showed the statue had damage on its horns, after Varlack reportedly unleashed on the statue with a banjo about midday on Saturday (local time). A police source said he "whacked the bull upside the head".

"It's selfish," witness Ryan Taylor told the Daily News. "There are more impactful ways to say what you need to say."

The famous statue was created to symbolise "strength and power of the American people" according to its creator, artist Arturo Di Modica.

Di Modica has yet to comment on the damage caused to his famous work.
