Man charged with murder after rapping about killing his girlfriend

A man caught on video boasting about killing his girlfriend during a freestyle rap has been charged with her murder.

Chilling video - which Newshub has elected not to run - emerged of Robert Camou, 27, rapping that he killed his girlfriend, buried her body and is running from the police, in late July.

The video was shot at the King King Eddy Saloon on July 30, hours before police found Camou and arrested him on a variety of charges relating to his violent relationship with girlfriend Amanda Custer.

He was on bail when he was arrested for an alleged attack on Custer on April 22.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday he has now been charged with Custer's murder.

Prosecutors believe Camou killed Custer around July 29, although her body has not been found.

He's facing one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation of killing a witness, and an allegation he was out on bail when the crime was committed.

If convicted Camou faces the death penalty or life in prison. A decision on whether the prosecutor will seek the death penalty will be made at a later date.
