Video has been released of the moment a high school football coach hugged a student after taking away the gun he brought to school.
Angel Granados-Diaz walked into Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregon, with a shotgun loaded with one bullet on May 18, Buzzfeed reports.

He didn't shoot anyone though, as coach Keanon Lowe managed to get the gun off him first.
Lowe said back in May he spotted the student steps away from him when he was on his way to a classroom to get a student.
"I saw the look in his face, look in his eyes, looked at the gun, realised it was a real gun, and then my instincts just took over," Lowe said. "I lunged for the gun, put two hands on the gun."
Video from the school's security cameras shows what happened next, with Lowe talking to Granados-Diaz and holding him with one hand. He then grabbed the gun and moved to the other end of the hallway.
A teacher grabbed the gun and ran away with it, while Lowe embraced Granados-Diaz, who began to cry.
"He broke down and I just wanted to let him know that I was there for him," Lowe said at the time. "I told him I was there to save him. I was there for a reason and that this is a life worth living."
Granados-Diaz pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a firearm in a public building, attempting to discharge a firearm at a school and possession of a loaded firearm in a public place.
He was handed a 36-month probation sentenced and will receive mental health and substance abuse treatment.
