Jane Fonda arrested again, this time with Ted Danson

Actress and activist Jane Fonda was arrested for the third week in a row while leading a protest outside the United States Capitol on Friday in an an effort to urge US officials to take more action on climate change.

Fellow actor and activist Ted Danson was also arrested, while accompanying Fonda.

Fonda marched arm-in-arm with other protesters, chanting, "What do we want? A Green New Deal! When do we want it? Now!"

"It's so important that we help people understand that this crisis is urgent. Urgent," said Barbarella star Fonda.

"It is too late for business as usual. I'm inspired by Greta Thunberg, the young Swedish student, who said 'we have to behave like our house is on fire. Because it is.' And that's why we're calling these Fire Drill Fridays."

The Oscar winning actress is best-known outside the screen for her Vietnam War activism. Fonda, a longtime anti-war and womens' rights activist, launched a fitness craze with her 1980s workout videos.

Danson has been involved with ocean advocacy since the 1980s, when he helped found the American Oceans Campaign which today is known as the non-profit Oceana.

"One of the things that I've learned from my scientist friends is that if we do three things, we can help the fish come back," said Danson, who also has a recurring role in offbeat comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Fonda said earlier this month she plans to get arrested on every Friday for the rest of the year.
