The world's oldest couple are celebrating their 80th anniversary.
John and Charlotte Henderson's friends and family gathered at Longhorn Village to celebrate their anniversary in Austin, Texas.
According to WDSN News, John, 106, picked up his 105-year-old wife Charlotte in a 1920s convertible in the same way he did on their first date, with a bouquet of flowers.
The two met during a zoology lecture at the University of Texas in 1934 and the couple's wedding day was on December 22, 1939.
"They are a wonderful couple, and an example of a very happy couple, glad to be around each other, travel together and live life,"Jason Free, the great-nephew of the couple, told Kxan media.
"They'll tell you stories of the past, but they don't dwell on the past."
John and Charlotte will officially mark 80 years together on Sunday, December 22, 2019.
