Australia bushfires: Aussie man shares photo of blaze forming 'devil face'

An Australian man has shared an image of a terrifying "devil face" seemingly forming in one of Victoria's devastating fires on Thursday night.

Craig Calvert, a dairy farmer, shared a photo portraying the "big devil face" in the clouds of smoke coming from the Gippsland fires.

"I'm not really into hokey pokey spooky stuff but there's a big devil face right in the fire," he told Channel Seven's Sunrise on Friday.

"It's just ridiculous, you won't believe it, I don't believe it," said Calvert, who had spent more than 12 hours trying to save his Victorian property.

"We had fireballs coming over, jumping," Calvert told Sunrise.

In Victoria, a state of disaster was declared earlier this week, and the local government issued an additional six "evacuate now" alerts overnight.

It was the first time the Victorian Government had used its state of disaster powers since they were introduced in 2009.

Australian emergency services are bracing for another catastrophic day of bushfires on Saturday with temperatures set to soar yet again.
