Mexican model with no arms aims to become Miss Veracruz

A Mexican model with no arms wants to be the next Miss Veracruz.

Model Ana Gabriela Molina, 24, has an extremely rare birth defect causing her to be born without arms.

But despite Molina's lack of upper arms, she manages to perform daily tasks with her feet.

She has already been crowned Miss Nanchital and is determined to become Mexico's Miss Veracruz pageant winner in a contest which begins in March.

Although Molina appears to be full of confidence, the acceptance process has been difficult.

"I have had times when I had a hard time, because the question 'Why me?' has always been there," she told Reuters.

"I have managed to overcome everything that has happened to me in my life and I am here."

Despite this, she feels like "any other normal person", and for Molina her condition is not a disability.

"I have lived my life. My disability is not a limit."

She will be the first contestant without arms to participate in the contest and says she wants to pave the path for those with disabilities and motivate people to do what they want.
