Rockets hit US embassy in Iraq: Blasts, eerie sirens ring out in chilling video

Terrifying video has surfaced of the moment two rockets fell inside Baghdad's green zone.

The video was posted on Twitter by Arabic news site Erem News. The shaky video looks out at what appears to be a back garden.

In the background two loud, distinct blasts can be heard followed by blaring sirens.

An automated voice rings out warnings of danger.

"Incoming, incoming".

Two men can be heard in the background speaking in Arabic. Towards the end of the video, someone can be seen running past them on the street.

"Come over here!" the man shouts from behind the camera.

"Shit, shit," a second man replies.

The Iraqi military has confirmed two rockets fell inside the green zone on Thursday.

"Two Katyusha rockets landed inside the Green Zone without causing casualties," it said in a statement.

Erem News reports one of the missiles landed 100 metres from the US embassy.

There are no reports of casualties.

The green zone is Baghdad's high-security territory which houses foreign embassies including that of the US.
