A heartbreaking video of an Australian boy who was bullied because of his dwarfism at school has gone viral after his mother posted it online.

Quaden Bayles, 9, was born with Achondroplasia, a common form of dwarfism.

His mother Yarraka witnessed kids taunting and bullying him at his Brisbane school on Wednesday by patting his head and mocking his height.

Yarraka then took him to the car to talk with him, which was when she started filming.

Through a stream of tears, Quaden says the bullying has been so relentless that he repeatedly says he "just wants to die right now".

As he is crying, Yarraka says she wants everyone to see how bad bullying is.

"This is the impact bullying has on a 9-year-old kid that just wants to go to school, get an education and have fun. But every single fricken day, something happens, another episode, another bullying, another taunt."

She says the bullying has been cruel and wants a change in the education system.

"I want people to know how much it is hurting us as a family, I want people to educate their children. The whole anti-bullying shit isn't f***ing working."

Since the video was posted to Facebook, Yarraka says she's received a lot of support but also some criticism.

"I have copped a lot of backlash for it, I thought twice about deleting it ... but I wanted people to see the effect bullying is having on my child. If I don't stand up and speak out for him, who will," she told SBS.

Quaden has since been removed from school, and it's now likely he'll be homeschooled, Yarraka says.
