Horrific racism towards elderly Asian man picking up rubbish in US caught on camera

An elderly Asian man has been racially abused and taunted by a crowd in the US as he collected rubbish to make ends meet.

The racist attack on the man, who was left in tears, was caught on camera and went viral when uploaded to social media on Sunday evening.

The victim appeared to be collecting recyclables in San Francisco, according to the Daily Mail, when a crowd of people started racially abusing and insulting him.

The shocking video was posted to Twitter.

"Please share this with your friends & family. This is so low, the older man was just trying to make ends meet for his family," wrote the user.

"He didn't deserve this. This is ignorant, inhumane, & sickening. I'm praying for this man and his family. If you have any information, please reach out."

The clip shows the elderly man walking back to his recyclables, but one abuser armed with a broomstick is blocking his way.

"You hear that n****r?" shouts an onlooker.

"Man, hey, go get your cans, man. Go get your cans, man, don't be scared," another taunts him.

The victim turns around, in an apparent attempt to get his recyclables back.

"Uh, oh he's scared," shouts another bully.

The man with the broom begins chasing him down the street, swinging it at his head.

As he tries again to collect his belongings, onlookers continue to racially mock him.

"He just robbed your dumb ass. They are his cans. Go get your shit. I hate Asians," said the person recording the clip.
