Madeleine McCann's parents missed out on two letters from German police after British cops did not pass them on.

The Sun reports, the first letter which was sent at the end of May, said they were treating Madeleine's disappearance as murder after uncovering new evidence.

The second letter was sent last week to provide updates on the ongoing investigation.

British police botched passing them on as Gerry and Kate McCann say they did not receive either of the letters, ABC news reports.

Three-year-old Madeleine McCann went missing from a resort her family was holidaying at in Portugal in 2007. Her parents were out at a restaurant nearby with friends and checked on her and her twin siblings multiple times throughout the night.

When they came back to the room at the end of the evening, Madeleine was gone and has not been seen since.

Both of the letters were sent to the McCanns through the Scotland Yard.

This comes days after her parents denied receiving any communication from German police.

Prosecutors said on Tuesday they sent a letter to Gerry and Kate confirming Madeleine's death, according to Sky News.
