The alleged president of Queensland's Mongrel Mob was arrested after police say he wore gang merchandise while shopping in Brisbane.

Eric Ian Waimana Pere, 37, was allegedly seen wearing a hoodie emblazoned with 'Mob Mafia' and the gang's bulldog logo while inside Westfield Garden City on June 19, the Courier Mail reports.

He was also with another Mongrel Mob member at the time, which was allegedly a bail condition breach from an unrelated offence in December that required him not to associate with other gang members. He also allegedly breached bail conditions by living in a property in Springwood in southeast Brisbane.

Pere's latest arrest comes after he appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court last week on charges of wearing a prohibited item in a public place and breaching a bail condition. However, he was later granted bail after his defence solicitor argued Pere wasn't an "unacceptable risk" of reoffending or failing to appear in court.

That arrest came after Queensland Police raided a house in Brisbane's Sunnybank Hills on July 8, where Mongrel Mob clothing items - including hoodies, vests and T-shirts - and two books containing the alleged rules of the 'Mob Mafia' were found, police say. Police claim Pere was staying at the house.

He wasn't charged in relation to these items, and he will appear in court again on August 21.
