US Couple banned from Walmart after shoppers confronted them wearing Nazi masks

A couple wearing Nazi masks while shopping in Walmart have been banned from the store.

A video posted on social media of a couple wearing a mask made out of a Nazi swastika flag on in Minnesota on Saturday had Walmart customers fired up.

The incident, captured on Facebook, was filmed the day the governor of Minnesota ordered all people to wear face coverings in public indoor spaces.

Raphaela Mueller, 24, and Benjamin Ruesch, 29, who filmed the couple told BuzzFeed News they couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"I was speechless. I couldn't believe my eyes," said Mueller. "It was just a disbelief that something like that would happen."

Shoppers confronted the couple and told them it was "so incredibly offensive" to wear the symbol.

"You're sick. You have an illness, you can't be American and wear that mask. You cannot. We literally had a war about this," Reusch said.

"Oh f*** you," the woman responded.

"I'm not a Nazi. I'm trying to show you what's going to happen in America," she said. "If you vote for [Joe] Biden, you're gonna be in Nazi Germany, that's what its going to be like."

The video posted on Facebook has received over 130k views and 1.9k shares.

The couple were issued a trespass notice and banned from Walmart facilities nationwide for at least a year.

"What happened at our store in Marshall, Minnesota, is unacceptable," a Walmart spokesperson Delic Garcia told BuzzFeed news.

"We strive to provide a safe and comfortable shopping environment for all our customers and will not tolerate any form or discrimination or harassment in any aspect of our business."

"It's unfortunate that some individuals have taken this pandemic as an opportunity to create a distressing situation for customers and associates in our store," she said.
