A woman who was asked to leave a Canadian fabric store for not wearing a mask has been filmed lashing out at customers and staff.

The anti-masker, identified as Jan Walsh but dubbed a 'Karen' by many online accounts, was shopping in the Calgary Fabricland store when she was told she needs a face covering.

Masks have been mandatory in all indoor public spaces in Calgary since August.

When told she isn't following policy, Walsh is heard saying "I'm sick and tired of your sickened rules, alright?"

She then proceeds to get into the face of a customer who was recording the unfolding incident.

"Are you afraid? You should run away, but you have your supermask on."

"I'm trying to protect you," responds the customer.

"I don't need protection from you," Walsh responds before touching the person filming.

"Oh no, I touched you, I'm gonna get COVID."

"You're probably going to give it to me," responds the customer.

Walsh goes on to say what she wants to happen if "this thing" is proven to be a coax.

"I want an apology from each and every one of you sheep. Educate yourselves," she says.

Once the video was posted to Facebook, she wrote a lengthy message defending herself.

"If you don't stand up to something then you'll fall for anything," she explained, before stating: "It's about entertainment people - nobody really cares about people dying."

Store manager Maddie Lemeistre said that Walsh didn't say anything about a medical condition that would exempt her from the mask bylaw when asked to leave, reports CTV News.

“It’s kind of hard to deal with. We’re trying to keep everybody safe," Lemeistre said.

“She just wouldn’t listen, that’s the difficult part. Like, there was no reasoning with her.”

Lemeistre explained that Fabricland has online and curb-side pickup options for people who are unable to wear a mask.
