The first US Presidential debate on Tuesday has been described as a "hot mess" and "disgrace" by analysts.
Here are some of the most insulting quotes between Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden ahead of the November 3 election:
'Everyone knows he's a liar'
Trump told Biden that he had adopted former Democrat rival Bernie Sander's far-left 'socialised medicine' proposals.
"The fact of the matter is, I beat Bernie Sanders, I'm here standing facing you buddy," Biden replied.
"The fact is that everything he is saying so far is simply, a lie. I'm not here to call out his lies, everybody knows he's a liar."
"Hey, Joe you're the liar. You graduated last in your class and not first in your class," Trump replied.
'The President has no plan'
After Trump explained his health proposal, Biden said: "He has no plan for healthcare. He sends out wishful thinking. He hasn't lowered drug costs for anybody."
"He's been promising a healthcare plan since he got elected. He has none, like almost everything else he talks about. He does not have a plan.
"And the fact is, this man doesn't know what he's talking about."'Will you shut up man?'
While being interrupted by Trump, Biden said: "Will you shut up man? This is so unpresidential."
"We have ended this segment," moderator Chris Wallace said.
"That was a really productive segment, wasn't it," Biden said sarcastically.
'There's nothing smart about you, Joe'
Biden said Trump has been "totally irresponsible in the way he has handled the social distancing" in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
"A lot of people died, and a lot more (are) going to die unless he gets a lot smarter, a lot quicker," Biden said.
"There's nothing smart about you, Joe," Trump responded.
"You would have lost far more people.
"We've done a great job, but I tell you, Joe, you could never have done the job we've done. You don't have it in your blood."
'He's the worst president America's ever had'
When asked about how much Trump had paid in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017, Trump replied: "millions of dollars."
"He said he's smart because he can take advantage of the tax code and he does take advantage of the tax code, that's why I'm going to eliminate the Trump tax cuts and make sure we invest in the people who in fact need help," Biden said.
"But why didn't you do it in the last 25 years?" Trump interrupted.
"Because you are President screwing thing up," Biden responded. "You're the worst president America's ever had - c'mon."
'It's hard to get any words in with this clown'
Interrupted repeatedly by Trump, Biden said: "Well it's hard to get any words in with this clown."
