Donald Trump claims he's immune to COVID-19, says he wants to 'kiss everyone' during a campaign rally

US President Donald Trump claimed he was immune to COVID-19 and wanted to "kiss everyone in that audience" during an election campaign in Florida on Tuesday (NZ time).

Speaking at the first campaign rally since testing positive for COVID-19, Trump flaunted the fact he had recovered from the virus which has already killed over 215,000 people in the US.

"I went through it, now they say I'm immune," Trump told his fans.

"I feel so powerful, I'll walk into that audience... I'll walk in there, I'll kiss everyone in that audience.

"I'll kiss the guys and the beautiful women, everybody, I'll just give ya a big fat kiss."

The President tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday, according to White House physician Dr Sean Conley.

On Sunday, Trump claimed he was immune to the virus in a post on Twitter, which was later flagged for the misleading comments.

"A total and complete sign off from the White House doctors yesterday. That means I can't get [sick again], and can't give it," Trump wrote.

A Twitter spokeswoman told Reuters the post made "misleading" and "potentially harmful" health claims about COVID-19.
