A 13-year-old New York boy has fallen to his death from the 20th floor of an apartment building.
According to the New York Post, Matthew Pierre was found on the ground outside his apartment block in Manhattan at about 6am on Monday (local time). He wasn't wearing a shirt and was unresponsive.
Police said an investigation into the death is underway but doesn't appear to be suspicious. The Post reports the boy had been completing homework just moments before he fell.
"Rest in Power my handsome sweet young King," the boy's mum, Jeri Snead-Pierre, wrote on Instagram.
"Thank you all who have been supportive, praying, and crying with us."
Snead-Pierre described her son as "positive and loving".
"We will never forget you," she said.
The Post said neighbours declined to comment on the death.
