Tributes are flowing in for the three-year-old girl who died after being left in a hot vehicle in Australia.

Rylee Black died after being locked inside her mother's car for over five hours in Townsville, in the state of Queensland on Friday afternoon.

Queensland is currently battling a heatwave and it's shaping up to be the nation's hottest November on record, according to ABC News.

Rylee's friends and family took to social media over the weekend to share their grief of her death.

"RIP little angel fly high sweetie," one woman said, according to news.com.au.

"Poor sweet girl, so heartbreaking," another wrote.

Some people described her as a "princess" and said her death was "devastating for all".

"This tears my heart out of my chest... RIP little sweetheart... I'm so sorry," one man said.

Emergency services were notified of the incident around 3:30pm when Rylee's mother Laura Peverill and her boyfriend Aaron Hill took her to the Townsville University Hospital.

Hill and Peverill have since been charged with manslaughter, 7 News reported.

"The charge of manslaughter indicates there's been negligence on the part of the people responsible for this child's health and wellbeing," Det Snr Sgt Dave Miles said. "The next part of our investigation will be to further identify the movements of all the parties involved, identify what it was during the period of the day, their exact activities."

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
