Melania Trump is embroiled in controversy again over her social media posts, racking up a raft of criticism for her latest tweet. One Twitter user even replied saying "it will be a joy to watch you leave".

The First Lady posted a video to Twitter in support of her Be Best public awareness campaign where she encouraged Americans to "give a voice to our nation's children and the issues that impact their lives".

"It's the values and spirit of the American people that inspired Be Best," she added. "It's those values that will carry on its mission."

The Be Best campaign focuses on addressing foster care, opioid addiction, cyberbullying, and providing children with the tools required for emotional, social, and physical health.

But Melania's tweet was met with a boatload of backlash, as Twitter users pointed out that her husband had been the instigator of violence and cyberbullying.

"What legacy? Your husband demonstrated to children all over America that bullying wasn't just okay, it was something the President of the United States does. He modelled childish temper tantrums and insults for four years. That's your legacy, lady," one user wrote

"You have been married to the greatest bully on the planet, who you watched publicly and perpetually harass people on social media to such a degree that millions were physically and emotionally traumatised, and many died," said another.

Others took the opportunity to crack a joke.

"Thank you, First Lady. Your Be Best initiative cleared social media of its biggest cyberbully," one user captioned a screenshot of US President Donald Trump's suspended Twitter account.

And some attacked Melania's own legacy

"You have been complicit in everything your traitorous husband has done. You have no legacy except being criminal along with your husband. What did you care about those most? Not being on Vogue?

"Yeah, I remember your 'I don't care' jacket that you wore to see kids your husband ordered into cages with no adult care."

The tweet follows the release of a scathing opinion piece written by Melania's ex-advisor where she called Melania an "abuser of the worst kind", adding she was "ashamed" to have worked with her.

The article was written in response to the Capitol riots and Melania's silence over the issue.

Melania has since condemned the riots in a statement where she said she was "disappointed and disheartened" over what happened.

"I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me," she said, calling out "people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda."
