Preparation for Joe Biden's inauguration: In pictures

The threat of possible armed protests across the United States has led to heightened security ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration.

The FBI says it received information indicating there are plans for demonstrations at all 50 state capitols and the US Capitol in Washington DC in the days leading up to January 20.

States including Michigan, Virginia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Washington have activated their National Guard to strengthen security and more than 20,000 troops will be in Washington DC by inauguration day.
