A man has been charged after beating up a female employee at a bubble tea shop in Australia.

The violent brawl happened on Friday night after a trainee employee confronted a customer at Fun Tea in Adelaide.

Others intervened during the fight before the employee retaliated and threw an item at the customer and kicked him before she was kicked to the ground.

Rose Park, 20, was treated by paramedics at the scene and later taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment, 9News reports.

When police arrived, her attacker, Glen Osmond, 39, had already left.

A video of the row has since gone viral on social media.

Fun Tea released a statement, taped to the shop's window on Wednesday, that said they have zero tolerance for violence and addressed rumours the fight was between employees.

"The alleged assault was not connected to a complaint about the employee's pay or rates of pay," the statement said.

"The incident arose following a previous verbal argument which the female employee had had with the customer," Fun Tea said.

They also said the man also struck four other female employees during the incident

Osmond is released on bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 7.

The incident is still under investigation.
