The man who calls himself the 'QAnon Shaman' has been moved to a prison that serves organic food, after refusing to eat for more than a week.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, who stormed the US Capitol last month wearing horns, face paint and a fur pelt, turned himself into police after his image became synonymous with the riots in Washington.

Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, faces several charges, including civil disorder, disorderly conduct and obstruction.

He was one of hundreds of pro-Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol while Congress was meeting to certify Joe Biden's electoral college win.

On Friday (local time), a federal judge ordered authorities to provide Chansley with organic food while he was in custody after his lawyers said he had gone nine days without eating, reports the Associated Press.

Chansley considers eating organic food to be part of his "shamanic belief system and way of life", his lawyers argued.

Because the jail he was being held in couldn't provide organic food, the judge ruled Chansley be transferred to the nearby Alexandria Detention Center, which could accommodate his diet.

Five people died during the riots on Capitol Hill, including a police officer.
